MedHOK’s Specialty Pharmacy Solution to Help Thousands of Chronic Care Patients with Critical Medication Monitoring to Improve Care

TAMPA, FL – April 24, 2018 – MedHOK, Inc., an industry leading platform for healthcare quality and compliance, announced today that Amber Pharmacy successfully launched MedHOK’s Specialty Pharmacy solution.

Amber Pharmacy serves the specialty pharmacy needs of chronically ill patients with long-term, complex treatment needs. Due to the complex nature of chronic conditions, clinical monitoring and intervention are common. Through the use of the MedHOK platform, Amber will automate evidence-based assessments to ensure the efficacy of patient drug regimens to improve adherence and clinical outcomes.

“MedHOK will allow more automation and is fully integrated with our current dispensing platform, increasing efficiency for our users, as well as the quality of care for our patients,” commented Micaila Ruiz, PharmD, R.Ph., Amber chief pharmacy officer.

The clinical component inherent in MedHOK’s Specialty Pharmacy solution integrates with specialty pharmacy dispensing systems, providing full visibility of the order process between systems with as little manual intervention as possible. Visibility, detailed communication between providers and pharmacists, and evidence-based assessments ensure the efficacy of a patient’s drug regimen in the most efficient way possible.

“It is our privilege to serve the needs of Amber Pharmacy’s patient population with the MedHOK platform,” said Gary Stuart, MedHOK president. “We look forward to building a long-term partnership as we work toward the common goal of optimal patient outcomes and value-based care.”

Amber Specialty Pharmacy, with locations in Omaha, NE; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; San Bernardino, CA; and Philadelphia, PA; will roll out the MedHOK Specialty Pharmacy solution across their client base in support of over 18,000 patients.
