Press Release: Gateway Health Selects MedHOK’s Software Platform To Simplify Pharmacy Management In Growing Compliance Environment

TAMPA, FL – March 31, 2016 – MedHOK®, recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest growing healthcare SaaS companies, announced today that Gateway HealthSM, a top-ranked Medicaid and Medicare managed care organization that serves more than 300,000 members, has selected MedHOK’s software platform. Out-of-the-box compliant and proactively updated for Medicare, Medicaid, and Affordable Care Act regulations, MedHOK is a compliance powerhouse and the software platform of choice for more than 50 of the nation’s largest healthcare payers, managing close to 40 million lives. Gateway will utilize the software platform to facilitate and manage pharmacy prior authorizations and external review requirements.

As the healthcare industry pushes towards a system based on compliance, quality of care and a value-based revenue model, a system that pulls together all pharmacy and medical interactions with the member is crucial. MedHOK is the only software that integrates pharmacy and medical care on a single platform, creating a 360° view of the member, allowing payers to identify and target member health risks, intelligently trigger workflow interventions, and improve quality of care.

“The complexity of managing members, achieving and maintaining compliance, and increasing revenue is a major challenge for our industry,” said Cindy Pigg, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Gateway Health. “We chose MedHOK’s software platform because it provides built-in best practices and structured workflows, 100% compliance with state and federal regulations, and the ability to add functionalities across the continuum of care as needed.”

Recently, Medicare and other government agencies have strengthened guidelines for turnaround times for pharmacy prior authorizations and appeals, requiring plans in all lines of business to adhere to tight timeframes for decision requests, member and provider communication, and claims process. MedHOK simplifies health plan management and ensures ever-increasing compliance mandates.

“MedHOK empowers health plans and managed care organizations like Gateway to succeed,” said Anil Kottoor, CEO of MedHOK. “MedHOK simplifies healthcare performance management, removes the worry of compliance, and allows payers to focus on achieving maximum revenue. That’s a formula for success.”
