Press Release: MedHOK Focuses Charitable Efforts On Local Community

TAMPA, FL – September 16, 2015 – MedHOK®, a Tampa-based pioneering software platform for health plans and other risk-bearing entities participating in government-sponsored programs, has been making a big impact in the local community, supporting several local organizations.

“As one of the area’s fastest growing companies, it’s important to us that we give back to the community that has supported us,” said Anil Kottoor, CEO of MedHOK. “It’s our goal to create long partnerships with the Tampa Bay community through charitable generosity and participation.”

MedHOK was a Macchia Forest level sponsor for the Art with a Twist event, an event held in downtown St. Petersburg among the Dale Chihuly collection in support of the hospitals for Morton Plant Mease. The Chihuly Collection is a stunning, permanent collection of world‐renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s unique artwork in a magnificent 10,000 square foot setting designed by award‐winning architect Albert Alfonso. The event on September 12th featured mixologists from several Tampa Bay restaurants, competing to create the Best Cocktail in the Bay.

“We are proud to be a part of a fun and exciting event that is supporting a very worthy cause,” stated Kottoor. “Morton Plant Mease provides valuable care to the members of our community, from cardiac programs to stroke, diabetes, and mental health programs.”

Additionally, MedHOK is a Chair’s Circle partner of Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture & the Arts (TBBCA), a non-profit organization that unites businesses in support of arts education, arts and culture in the Tampa Bay area. MedHOK’s philanthropic contributions go directly toward TBBCA community programs including artists stipends and assistance, and support the six scholarships TBBCA awards annually to area students to help them pursue higher education in fine or performing arts. The company also recently supported the Bay Area Advisors’ Martinis for Moffitt event in July, a fundraiser for Moffitt’s Advanced Prostate Cancer Collaboration.

“Being involved with our community goes beyond just financial support; our employees are encouraged to engage with and support local organizations as well,” said Kottoor. “MedHOK is proud to be a good community partner.”
